Seoul, South Korea - January 21, 2026 - As data rates continue to rise across consumer electronics and industrial systems, traditional cables and connectors are increasingly becoming a bottleneck—limiting design flexibility, reliability, and scalability. UNIQCONN Inc., a fabless semiconductor company specializing in ultra-high-speed, short-range wireless communication, is addressing this challenge by enabling wired interfaces to be replaced with compact, high-performance wireless links.

Founded in 2022 by experts from multiple technology domains, UNIQCONN focuses on eliminating the physical limitations of cable- and connector-based data transmission. The company designs single-chip wireless transceivers operating in the unlicensed 60 GHz mmWave band, capable of delivering data rates of up to 6.25 Gbps. In addition to RF IC design, UNIQCONN possesses in-house mmWave antenna expertise, allowing it to optimize system-level performance for real-world applications.

At the core of UNIQCONN’s technology portfolio is UC60, its flagship wireless transceiver that integrates both transmitter and receiver into a single chip.

UC60 supports full-duplex communication, enabling simultaneous bidirectional data transfer. To achieve this, UNIQCONN developed proprietary on-chip isolation circuitry to suppress self-interference between transmission and reception, complemented by antenna technology that provides additional isolation in practical deployment environments. UC60 employs ASK modulation and delivers ultra-low latency and high signal integrity at gigabit-class speeds.

UNIQCONN’s technology has been validated through collaborations with global industry leaders. The company worked with Samsung Electronics to develop and verify wireless replacements for exposed debugging connectors in home appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines. This collaboration demonstrated the feasibility of cable-free data transmission during both assembly-line operations and after-sales service processes. In addition, UNIQCONN validated wireless Ethernet data transmission in collaboration with Rosenberger (Germany), further reinforcing the global competitiveness of its wireless data communication technology.

In recognition of these achievements, UNIQCONN received a CES 2026 Innovation Award for UC60 ahead of the show’s opening in Las Vegas in January 2026. The award highlights UC60’s ability to address long-standing challenges associated with wired interfaces, including wear, corrosion, impedance mismatch, and electromagnetic interference (EMI).

With its compact 3.5 × 3.5 mm flip-chip BGA form factor, UC60 enables manufacturers to design smaller, slimmer, and fully sealed devices without visible ports. This design flexibility makes the technology well suited for applications such as docking stations, wearables, waterproof devices, AR/VR systems, real-time gaming, and professional streaming, as well as a wide range of industrial use cases.

Looking ahead, UNIQCONN aims to establish a new global communication paradigm by expanding its technology across international industrial markets through strategic collaboration with leading global partners. The company’s long-term vision is to set a new global standard for high-speed data connectivity—making UNIQCONN’s wireless communication technology accessible to devices and users worldwide.
