On November 25, the completion and official commissioning of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at four sites in Yongkang and Rouyuan towns, located in the Shapotou District of Zhongwei City, marked a significant step forward in resolving rural EV charging challenges. This initiative injects new momentum into green transportation and economic development in the area.
In recent years, the number of new energy vehicles in rural areas has steadily increased. In response, the State Grid Zhongwei Electric Power Supply Company has taken targeted measures to address local electricity demands by launching a rural EV charging station construction project.
During implementation, the project team tackled various challenges, including the decentralized layout of rural power grids and complex construction environments. They optimized power access solutions, upgraded nearby distribution lines, and installed complementary infrastructure such as grounding systems and safety warning signs. These efforts ensured the charging stations met safety standards while remaining accessible and user-friendly for local residents.
All four newly built charging stations are equipped with fast-charging capabilities, supporting a variety of new energy vehicles including private cars and small logistics vehicles. The facilities now serve nearly 2,000 households across five surrounding administrative villages.
Looking ahead, the company will continue focusing on enhancing rural infrastructure, optimizing the layout of charging facilities based on the specific needs of each village and town. By gradually expanding the coverage of the rural EV charging network, the company aims to strengthen power supply reliability and contribute to rural revitalization—ensuring public benefit initiatives truly reach and serve more people.
