Kion Listed in AWS Marketplace for JWCC Customers to Support Mission-Ready Cloud Operations

Platform combines FinOps and CloudOps for Automated Multicloud Control and Efficiency;

Now Available in AWS Marketplace to US Department of Defense via JWCC

Kion, a leading automated CloudOps and FinOps platform for multicloud, today announced that the Kion platform is now available for Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability (JWCC) customers via the Amazon Web Service (AWS) Marketplace. The AWS Marketplace provides U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) customers with secure, reliable, and mission-critical cloud services via JWCC. Kion is one of the first vendors to leverage the AWS Marketplace as a procurement vehicle when delivering to DoD, lowering acquisition barriers and expediting adoption across multiple cloud environments.

Kion equips defense and intelligence agencies with a multicloud automation platform that combines CloudOps capabilities like cloud provisioning, access controls and compliance with cloud cost management and FinOps. In highly regulated environments where national security and operational integrity are paramount, Kion provides continuous compliance with frameworks like NIST, FedRAMP and DoD Impact Levels (ILs), ensuring all accounts for every team are secure and compliant by default. At the same time, the platform’s advanced budgeting, spend tracking, and cost optimization capabilities help agencies curb waste, improve fiscal accountability, and redirect cloud spend toward high-priority mission outcomes, ensuring every dollar advances strategic objectives.

“For the defense community, cloud adoption isn’t just about modernization. It requires security, financial and operational discipline. We’re trusted by numerous defense and intelligence agencies because we deliver the tools necessary to scale operations and the guardrails to do it in a secure, compliant and efficient fashion,” said John Lynch, COO at Kion. “Being available to JWCC customers via AWS Marketplace is a privilege, and we’re proud to serve as a partner helping these institutions meet their cloud objectives.”

Kion is deployed and managed directly within each agency’s environment, rather than delivered as a cloud-based SaaS solution hosted externally. This self-hosted model enables agencies to meet stringent security requirements. Kion supports flexible deployment options, running seamlessly on hardened machine images or within cloud-native container services like Amazon Fargate. Additionally, Kion supports federal agencies’ efficiency initiatives by unifying cloud governance, automation, and financial management into a single platform – which is critical as agencies prepare next-cycle budgets under heightened scrutiny for demonstrable efficiency gains.

Kion is a member of the AWS Partner Network. The company has received the Government, Cloud Operations and Security Software Competencies, and supports AWS GovCloud (US), AWS Secret, AWS Top Secret and AWS Commercial regions.
